The Midterms Are Coming: What Now?
About this Session
A session for reflecting on what matters to us, how we want to show up in our communities, and how we can participate in ways that feel meaningful and sustainable.
With the U.S. midterm elections just one month away, it can feel like politics is everywhere, and sometimes like there’s no way to keep up with it all.
The news cycle, political conflict, and uncertainty about what comes next can bring up a complicated mix of emotions: hope, anger, anxiety, exhaustion, motivation, or even the desire to tune everything out. At the same time, many of us are asking ourselves a different question: What can I actually do?
In this session, we’ll create space to process what this election season is bringing up for us while thinking intentionally about how we want to participate. We’ll explore the different ways people can get involved beyond simply casting a ballot—from volunteering and organizing to supporting local organizations, talking with our communities, helping others participate, or simply becoming more informed about the issues that matter to us.
This isn’t a session for debating candidates or convincing anyone how to vote.
This session is for you if:
- The upcoming midterms have been on your mind
- You feel overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted by politics
- You want to get more involved but aren't sure where to start
- You're looking for ways to make your participation feel meaningful
- You want to connect your values to civic engagement
- You need space to process the current political moment with others
You don't have to be a political expert, activist, or even know exactly what you want to do next. Come as you are, and let's explore what it means to find your place in this moment and decide how you want to show up. 💛
About this Space
A space to explore how the world around us shapes who we are, including our values, fears, identities, and sense of responsibility. Together, we’ll reflect on living in complex systems, holding care and anger at once, and staying human, grounded, and connected while engaging with injustice, culture, and change.
How Does it Work?
This is an open, guided discussion led by your Keeper, Jesse. Each participant will have the opportunity to listen to and share experiences on anxiety, well-being, emotions, and whatever else comes up during the session.
When and How Do We Meet?
We meet digitally every couple of weeks to make participation easy for those with demanding schedules. Cameras are optional, and you’re welcome to join from wherever you are, even between shifts. We only ask that you find a private place to join or use headphones to help maintain the security of everyone present.
