The Practice of Delight: Finding Beauty in the Ordinary

About this Session

A session for exploring how to cultivate delight in our everyday lives

Life is full of ordinary moments we barely notice.

The first sip of coffee in the morning. Sunlight moving across the floor. A song you haven't heard in years. The way your pet greets you at the door. A stranger's laugh. The feeling of clean sheets. A tree you pass every day but have never really looked at.

In the rush of routines, responsibilities, uncertainty, and everything competing for our attention, it can be easy to move through life on autopilot. We may find ourselves waiting for big milestones, exciting plans, or major changes to feel joy while overlooking the small moments that are quietly happening all around us.

In this session, we'll explore what it means to intentionally cultivate delight and find beauty in the everyday ordinary. Together, we'll reflect on the things that make life feel a little lighter, softer, stranger, funnier, or more meaningful, and why noticing them can sometimes be a practice in itself.

We'll talk about wonder, gratitude, curiosity, pleasure, and the small rituals that help us feel more present in our own lives. What catches our attention? What makes us pause? What have we stopped noticing? And how might we create more opportunities for delight without needing life to look completely different first?

This isn't about forcing positivity or pretending difficult things aren't happening. It's about making room for beauty alongside them. Sometimes joy isn't a grand feeling. Sometimes it's simply noticing that something ordinary is actually kind of wonderful.

This session is for you if:

  • You feel like life has become routine or repetitive
  • You want to feel more present in your everyday life
  • You're looking for small ways to reconnect with joy or wonder
  • You often find yourself waiting for something bigger to feel happy
  • You want to notice more beauty in the world around you
  • You could use a reminder that delight doesn't have to be earned

You don't need to have a perfectly beautiful life to find beauty in it. Come as you are, and let's explore the small, strange, ordinary things that make life worth noticing. ✨

About this Space

Belonging is the space where we ask: Where do I fit in the world, and where do I fit within myself?

It’s about identity, home, community, and the quiet ache of wanting to be understood. In this space, we explore the places where we feel connected, the moments where we feel othered, and the relationships that shape our sense of self.

This is a space for the in-between places where belonging changes, breaks, rebuilds, or surprises us.

How Does it Work?
This is an open, guided discussion led by your Keeper, Jesse. Each participant will have the opportunity to listen to and share experiences on belonging, identity, community, and whatever else comes up during the session.

When and How Do We Meet?
We meet digitally every couple of weeks to make participation easy for those with demanding schedules. Cameras are optional, and you’re welcome to join from wherever you are, even between shifts. We only ask that you find a private place to join or use headphones to help maintain the security of everyone present.
