Perfectionism: When Good Enough Doesn't Feel Good Enough
About this Session
A session for exploring perfectionism, self-pressure, and the anxiety of never feeling finished.
Perfectionism often disguises itself as ambition, responsibility, or high standards. But underneath it can be a constant fear of making mistakes, disappointing others, falling short, or not being enough. It can make it difficult to start projects, finish them, rest, ask for help, or feel satisfied with what we’ve accomplished. It can turn everyday decisions into sources of stress and leave us feeling trapped by impossible expectations.
In this session, we’ll explore the relationship between anxiety and perfectionism. We’ll talk about the pressure to get everything right, the fear of failure, procrastination, people-pleasing, comparison, and the exhausting pursuit of an ever-moving standard.
This isn’t a space about lowering your goals or giving up on growth. It’s a space to examine the costs of perfectionism and reflect on what it might look like to approach ourselves with more flexibility, self-compassion, and grace.
This session is for you if:
- You struggle with perfectionism or self-criticism
- You put enormous pressure on yourself to perform
- You fear making mistakes or being judged
- You procrastinate because you want things to be perfect
- You rarely feel satisfied with your accomplishments
- You find it difficult to rest without feeling guilty
Bring a loved one, and let's unpack perfectionism, together. 💛
About this Space
Anxiety & the Inner World is a space for exploring the emotions that live just beneath the surface: the spirals, the “what ifs,” the patterns we inherit, and the fears we carry quietly.
Here, we make room for sitting with the parts of ourselves that panic, overthink, and worry.
This space helps us slow down, notice our inner world without judgment, and build gentler ways of relating to ourselves and others.
How Does it Work?
This is an open, guided discussion led by your Keeper, Jesse. Each participant will have the opportunity to listen to and share experiences on anxiety, well-being, emotions, and whatever else comes up during the session.
When and How Do We Meet?
We meet digitally every couple of weeks to make participation easy for those with demanding schedules. Cameras are optional, and you’re welcome to join from wherever you are, even between shifts. We only ask that you find a private place to join or use headphones to help maintain the security of everyone present.
