Inner Space, Outer Space: Emotional and Physical Space in Relationships

Relationships, Reimagined

About this Session

We all have different relationships with space. Sometimes we want more of it, sometimes less, and sometimes we’re not sure what we need. Space can feel freeing, comforting, lonely, or complicated, and what feels right can change as our lives and relationships change.

In this session, we’ll explore what emotional and physical space mean to us and how we make room for ourselves and the people we care about. We’ll talk about what it feels like to have too much space, not enough, or just the right amount, while leaving room for the conversation to go wherever people’s experiences take it.

This session is for you if:

  • You’ve been thinking about how much space you need or want
  • You’re navigating a change in a relationship or in your life
  • You’re curious about how other people experience closeness and distance
  • You have thoughts or experiences about space you’d like to share

There’s no right amount of space, and there’s no one way for relationships to look. Let’s make some space to talk about it.

About this Space

This is a queer-friendly space for people from all walks of life and all kinds of relationship structures, whether you’re single, partnered, queer, straight, or somewhere else entirely. We’re here to listen, make space for one another, and create room for honest sharing.

Come to a Space where you don't have to follow the script.
From an early age, we absorb ideas about what relationships should look like and how they should progress. We're given milestones to reach, roles to fill, and rules about which relationships should matter most. But those expectations don't necessarily reflect what we actually want or need.

This Space is a place to question those defaults and explore what might work better. We can talk about love, dating, friendship, intimacy, commitment, boundaries, and everything in between.

The script we’re given doesn’t have to be the script we follow. We get to rewrite it for ourselves.

This Space is for You if:

  • You’re questioning the dating → marriage → children pipeline
  • You’re exploring relationship structures that work differently from traditional monogamy
  • You’re in a relationship where at least one partner is neurodivergent
  • You’re exploring different ways of living and relating (e.g., living separately, cohabiting, separating)
  • You’re in a place in your life or relationship where a “script” doesn’t exist
  • You’re questioning what commitment, partnership, or intimacy can look like
  • You’re single and thinking about relationships differently
  • You just want some space to share, listen, and connect

You don’t have to be queer, nonmonogamous, partnered, or interested in changing your relationships to belong here. Curiosity, openness, and a willingness to let people make their own choices are what matter.

What We Discuss
We’ll explore the expectations we’ve inherited about what relationships should look like and what happens when we decide to do things differently. Topics will be shared before sign-up so you know what to expect when you join. If there’s something you’d like to talk about, you’re always welcome to suggest a topic.

When and How Do We Meet?
We meet digitally each week. Cameras are optional. You’re welcome to join from wherever you are, as long as you’re able to be in a semi-private space or use headphones to help maintain confidentiality.

Low Pressure, Low Commitment
We know your energy and availability can change day to day. Join as you are, when you can. Seats are limited, so we ask that you release your spot at least four hours before the session if you’re unable to attend.

Community-Driven Support
This is not a therapy group or a medical support group. It’s a shared space for people to connect on a human level. Our trained Keepers ensure everyone has time to speak and be heard. We do not fix, analyze, or advise. We listen, reflect, and hold space together.

A Safe and Confidential Environment
What is shared here stays here. Our digital platform is secure, and this Space is built on trust, care, and mutual respect.
