About this Space
Welcome to Outsmarting Impostor Syndrome, a supportive space designed for creatives and high-achieving individuals to confront the negative thought patterns associated with impostor syndrome.
Impostor syndrome is a psychological pattern in which individuals doubt their accomplishments, skills, and talents despite evidence of their competence. Those with impostor syndrome fear being exposed as “frauds,” often attributing success to luck or external factors rather than their own abilities. These feelings lead to anxiety, stress, and low self-esteem.
Outsmarting Impostor Syndrome will delve into various themes including:
- The influence of fear
- Feelings of inadequacy
- Self-worth
- Managing setbacks
- Unrealistic expectations
- Parental validation, or lack thereof, in childhood
- Peer comparison
- Success
Outsmarting Impostor Syndrome aims to reframe self-doubt as a natural part of life, recognize that impostor syndrome is universal, and cultivate self-compassion.
