Biography

Claire (she/her) is a passionate advocate for refugees, immigrants, survivors of domestic, sexual, and teen dating violence, and queer communities. With roots in West Michigan, she brings a trauma-informed lens to community engagement, training, and program development. She believes deeply in the power of community, dignity, and lived experience to drive meaningful change.

Now living in Texas, Claire is exploring what it means to build like-minded communities in a new place—seeking spaces rooted in belonging, curiosity, and the freedom to simply be -- like Totem. She lives with her partner, their unimpressed cat, and a dog who runs their lives. She always wants to be invited but probably won't show up. And, you’ll find her in, near, or on the water—where she feels most like herself.

Living with invisible and chronic illnesses, she proudly claims her place in the “spoonie” world—where balancing joy and grief, strength and softness, happens daily. She’s a firm believer in nuance, a holder of many truths at once, and a seeker of spaces where people can unravel without fear of not being enough. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Grand Valley State University and is here for the messy, beautiful, deeply human work. She's stoked for you to join one of her spaces—where you can show up as you are and your voice matters.
