Thriving in Motherhood

Circles for Momma's

About this Session

Mental Health in Motherhood

In honor of mental health awareness month we will be discussing mental health in Motherhood. We will discuss questions like:

  • How has your family shaped your view on mental health?

We hope after leaving this Circle you feel like you have a stronger idea of what your own personal mental health looks like and steps on getting to your healthiest self.

"I lied and said I was busy. I was busy; but not in a way most people understand.

I was busy taking deeper breaths. I was busy silencing irrational thoughts. I was busy calming a racing heart. I was busy telling myself I am okay.

Sometimes, this is my busy - and I will not apologize for it."

Brittin Oakman

These Circles are designed to enable a safe, supportive, and empathetic environment for moms to explore and share their mental health journeys.

About this Circle

Life is Loud!

Come to a space where you will be heard.

Shy? Scared? Anti-social? We are too! Let us move through those discomforts together! If you have never tried a Circle or support group before this may feel a little scary. To ease some of that anxiety we have prepared a few questions for you so you have an idea of the sort of things we will discuss:

  • As a parent, if you could have one super ability what would it be?

  • Tell us about a time as a parent you felt outside of your integrity?

  • If you could give one piece of advice to a new parent what would it be?

Many of the Momma’s in these Circles are caring for younger children, but all Momma’s are welcome here! These Circles give us an opportunity to know and be known and there is value in all of our experiences. We meet digitally and bi-weekly. There is no commitment. This is a safe space to come as you can and as you are. We harbor a nurturing environment for nursing, crying and care-giving parents.

We understand carving out time for ourselves can be a logistical challenge, so kiddos are welcome! We just ask that you keep yourself on mute when you are not speaking. We cannot wait to share community with you and learn from all your strengths and challenges. We are better together!

"The human heart was not designed to beat outside the human body and yet, each child represented just that - a parent's heart bared, beating forever outside its chest."
